Giv­en the glob­al out­break of the COVID-19 Coro­n­avirus, we regret to inform you that we have decid­ed to post­pone the 2020 Inter­na­tion­al Con­fer­ence of Sci­ences, Tech­nol­o­gy, and Human­i­ties (ICSTH 2020), which was sched­uled to be held on March 26–28 in Hous­ton, to 27–29 August 2020.  An offi­cial let­ter to the reg­is­trants is post­ed here.  Thank for your under­stand­ing.

The Ikatan Ilmuwan Indone­sia Inter­na­tion­al (I‑4) in the Unit­ed States and the Con­sulate Gen­er­al of the Repub­lic of Indone­sia in Hous­ton invite Indone­sian sci­en­tif­ic dias­po­ra in the U.S. and around the world, grad­u­ate stu­dents, Indone­sian sci­en­tists and pol­i­cy mak­ers, and Indone­sian­ists to par­tic­i­pate in the 1st I‑4 Inter­na­tion­al Con­fer­ence on Sci­ence, Tech­nol­o­gy and Human­i­ties 2020 (ICSTH 2020). The con­fer­ence will be held on March 26–28, 2020 in Hous­ton, Texas, under the theme “Strength­en­ing Sci­ence and Tech­nol­o­gy in Indone­sia: The Roles of Sci­en­tif­ic Dias­po­ra”.

The goals of this con­fer­ence are (1) to pro­vide a plat­form for Indone­sian sci­en­tif­ic dias­po­ra in the U.S. and sci­en­tists in Indone­sia and around the world to com­mu­ni­cate, exchange views and exper­tise, devel­op mutu­al col­lab­o­ra­tion, and net­work­ing, and (2) to dis­cuss poten­tial roles of sci­en­tif­ic dias­po­ra in strength­en­ing sci­ence and tech­nol­o­gy in Indone­sia and to devel­op rec­om­men­da­tions to the Indone­sian Gov­ern­ment to enhance the qual­i­ty and quan­ti­ty of sci­ence and tech­nol­o­gy research in Indone­sia.

Abstract Submission and Deadlines

Par­tic­i­pants are invit­ed to sub­mit abstracts of orig­i­nal research or case stud­ies for­mat­ted accord­ing to the spe­cif­ic for­mat pro­vid­ed here. Please fol­low the abstract guide­lines and sub­mit the abstract to and before Feb­ru­ary 15th, 2020. If appro­pri­ate, describe in the abstract how your schol­ar­ly work may con­tribute to strength­en­ing sci­ence and tech­nol­o­gy in Indone­sia or if you have rec­om­men­da­tions for stake­hold­ers in Indone­sia.

In addi­tion, please indi­cate whether you would like your abstract to be con­sid­ered for a paper or a poster pre­sen­ta­tion or both. Inter­na­tion­al atten­dees who require a U.S. visa to trav­el to the U.S. need to sub­mit their abstracts before Jan­u­ary 31st to ensure that they will receive let­ters of accep­tance and invi­ta­tion nec­es­sary for their visa appli­ca­tions in a time­ly man­ner.

Registration and Fees

Par­tic­i­pants should reg­is­ter online through Google form here. The reg­is­tra­tion fee is $50 for stu­dents and $100 for non-stu­dent par­tic­i­pants. This fee includes trans­porta­tion and admis­sion tick­ets to the NASA Space Cen­ter Hous­ton and George H. W. Bush Pres­i­den­tial Library in Texas A&M Uni­ver­si­ty in Col­lege Sta­tion, Texas.

Information for Presenters and Attendees

The agen­da of the con­fer­ence has been post­ed here. All pre­sen­ters and atten­dees are required to reg­is­ter and pay the reg­is­tra­tion fees online by March 15, 2020. Pre­sen­ters who are not reg­is­tered by the dead­line will be removed from the pro­gram. For those who have reg­is­tered and made the pay­ment but are not able to attend the con­fer­ence due to per­son­al rea­sons includ­ing visa will receive a par­tial refund. The com­mit­tee will refund $90 for non-stu­dent presenters/participants and $40 for stu­dent presenters/participants.
