The Inaugural I-4 International Conference on Science, Technology and Humanities (I4ICSTH 2020)

The Ikatan Ilmuwan Indonesia International (I-4) in the United States and the Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia in Houston invite Indonesian scientific diaspora in the U.S. and around the world, graduate students, Indonesian scientists and policy makers, and Indonesianists to participate in the 1st I-4 International Conference on Science, Technology and Humanities 2020 (ICSTH 2020). The conference will be held on March 26-28, 2020 in Houston, Texas, under the theme “Strengthening Science and Technology in Indonesia: The Roles of Scientific Diaspora”.

The goals of this conference are (1) to provide a platform for Indonesian scientific diaspora in the U.S. and scientists in Indonesia and around the world to communicate, exchange views and expertise, develop mutual collaboration, and networking, and (2) to discuss potential roles of scientific diaspora in strengthening science and technology in Indonesia and to develop recommendations to the Indonesian Government to enhance the quality and quantity of science and technology research in Indonesia.

Abstract Submission and Deadlines

Participants are invited to submit abstracts of original research or case studies formatted according to the specific format provided here. Please follow the abstract guidelines and submit the abstract to abstracts@i4indonesia.org before February 15th, 2020. If appropriate, describe in the abstract how your scholarly work may contribute to strengthening science and technology in Indonesia or if you have recommendations for stakeholders in Indonesia.

In addition, please indicate whether you would like your abstract to be considered for a paper or a poster presentation or both. International attendees who require a U.S. visa to travel to the U.S. need to submit their abstracts before January 31st to ensure that they will receive letters of acceptance and invitation necessary for their visa applications in a timely manner.

Registration and Fees

Participants should register online at https://i4indonesia.org/i4icsth. Early bird registration fee (by February 29, 2020) is $50 for students and $100 for non-student participants. This fee includes transportation and admission tickets to Space Center Houston (NASA) and George H. W. Bush Presidential Library in College Station, Texas. After February 29, 2020, registration fee will be $75 for students and $150 for non-student participants.
