Pertemuan Menristek dengan I‑4 Jepang

Pada tang­gal 6 Desem­ber lalu, Men­ris­tek Prof. Dr. Bam­bang Brod­jone­goro men­gadakan perte­muan den­gan anggota I‑4 Jepang dan maha­siswa Indone­sia di Jepang. Perte­muan berlang­sung di KBRI Tokyo yang dimod­er­a­tori oleh Kuasa Usa­ha AD Inter­im KBRI Tokyo Tri Pur­na­jaya. Del­e­gasi I‑4 Jepang dip­impin oleh Dr. Sas­tia Pra­ma Putri, Deputy Man­ag­ing Direc­tor I‑4 Kawasan Asia Timur. Dalam perte­muan terse­but dis­am­paikan pula Pro­fil Singkat I‑4 and Pro­fil Ilmuwan Indone­sia di Jepang. Berikut adalah lapo­ran singkat yang dit­ulis oleh Dr. Sas­tia Pra­ma Putri: Pada  tang­gal 6 Desem­ber 2019, bertem­pat di KBRI Tokyo, I‑4 Chap­ter Jepang telah men­gadakan perte­muan den­gan Prof. Bam­bang Brod­jone­goro, Menteri Riset, Teknolo­gi, dan Badan Riset Ino­vasi Nasion­al Kabi­net Indone­sia Maju, 2019–2024. Acara ini juga dihadiri oleh Kuasa Usa­ha Ad Inter­im KBRI Tokyo Bapak Tri Pur­na­jaya, Atase Pen­didikan Kebu­dayaan, Dr. Alin­da FM Zain, Dir­jen Men­ris­tekdik­ti Dr. Dimy­ati, Kepala BPPT Dr. Ham­mam Riza dan Kepala LAPAN Prof. Dr. Anhar Riza Antarik­sawan. Acara dim­u­lai den­gan paparan Menteri RIs­tek Bam­bang Brod­jone­goro kepa­da para ilmuwan dan pela­jar Indone­sia ten­tang ren­cana ker­ja Kementer­ian Riset, Teknolo­gi dan BRIN. Menteri Bam­bang menyam­paikan hara­pan­nya agar para dias­po­ra Indone­sia tetap dap­at ikut mem­ban­gun bangsa Indone­sia dan mem­bi­na ker­jasama yang baik den­gan Indone­sia meskipun masih memil­ih untuk berkarir di Jepang. Sete­lah paparan dari Menteri Bam­bang, acara dilan­jutkan den­gan diskusi antara pak Menteri dan 15 ilmuwan dias­po­ra Jepang yang saat ini bek­er­ja di uni­ver­si­tas, badan riset dan juga indus­tri. Dalam diskusi terse­but, Deputy Man­ag­ing Direc­tor I‑4 untuk kawasan Asia Timur Dr. Sas­tia Pra­ma Putri menyam­paikan infor­masi ten­tang organ­isasi I‑4 yang kemu­di­an dilan­jutkan den­gan perke­nalan dari mas­ing-mas­ing ilmuwan dias­po­ra yang hadir. Acara kemu­di­an ditut­up oleh Menteri Bam­bang yang kem­bali mene­gaskan beber­a­pa per­an pent­ing para dias­po­ra yang dap­at diam­bil untuk mema­jukan dunia riset, yakni men­dukung penelit­ian di tanah air dimana ilmuwan dias­po­ra dap­at bertin­dak seba­gai men­tor untuk ilmuwan  muda Indone­sia, men­dukung top­ik-top­ik riset pent­ing yang sesuai den­gan pri­or­i­tas riset nasion­al dan mem­perku­at data­base dias­po­ra di selu­ruh dunia yang terkait den­gan bidang penelit­ian dan pengem­ban­gan.

The Inaugural I‑4 International Conference on Science, Technology and Humanities (I4ICSTH 2020)

The Ikatan Ilmuwan Indone­sia Inter­na­tion­al (I‑4) in the Unit­ed States and the Con­sulate Gen­er­al of the Repub­lic of Indone­sia in Hous­ton invite Indone­sian sci­en­tif­ic dias­po­ra in the U.S. and around the world, grad­u­ate stu­dents, Indone­sian sci­en­tists and pol­i­cy mak­ers, and Indone­sian­ists to par­tic­i­pate in the 1st I‑4 Inter­na­tion­al Con­fer­ence on Sci­ence, Tech­nol­o­gy and Human­i­ties 2020 (ICSTH 2020). The con­fer­ence will be held on March 26–28, 2020 in Hous­ton, Texas, under the theme “Strength­en­ing Sci­ence and Tech­nol­o­gy in Indone­sia: The Roles of Sci­en­tif­ic Dias­po­ra”. The goals of this con­fer­ence are (1) to pro­vide a plat­form for Indone­sian sci­en­tif­ic dias­po­ra in the U.S. and sci­en­tists in Indone­sia and around the world to com­mu­ni­cate, exchange views and exper­tise, devel­op mutu­al col­lab­o­ra­tion, and net­work­ing, and (2) to dis­cuss poten­tial roles of sci­en­tif­ic dias­po­ra in strength­en­ing sci­ence and tech­nol­o­gy in Indone­sia and to devel­op rec­om­men­da­tions to the Indone­sian Gov­ern­ment to enhance the qual­i­ty and quan­ti­ty of sci­ence and tech­nol­o­gy research in Indone­sia. Abstract Sub­mis­sion and Dead­lines Par­tic­i­pants are invit­ed to sub­mit abstracts of orig­i­nal research or case stud­ies for­mat­ted accord­ing to the spe­cif­ic for­mat pro­vid­ed here. Please fol­low the abstract guide­lines and sub­mit the abstract to abstracts@i4indonesia.org before Feb­ru­ary 15th, 2020. If appro­pri­ate, describe in the abstract how your schol­ar­ly work may con­tribute to strength­en­ing sci­ence and tech­nol­o­gy in Indone­sia or if you have rec­om­men­da­tions for stake­hold­ers in Indone­sia. In addi­tion, please indi­cate whether you would like your abstract to be con­sid­ered for a paper or a poster pre­sen­ta­tion or both. Inter­na­tion­al atten­dees who require a U.S. visa to trav­el to the U.S. need to sub­mit their abstracts before Jan­u­ary 31st to ensure that they will receive let­ters of accep­tance and invi­ta­tion nec­es­sary for their visa appli­ca­tions in a time­ly man­ner. Ear­ly bird reg­is­tra­tion fee (by Feb­ru­ary 29, 2020) is $50 for stu­dents and $100 for non-stu­­dent par­tic­i­pants. This fee includes trans­porta­tion and admis­sion tick­ets to Space Cen­ter Hous­ton (NASA) and George H. W. Bush Pres­i­den­tial Library in Col­lege Sta­tion, Texas. After Feb­ru­ary 29, 2020, reg­is­tra­tion fee will be $75 for stu­dents and $150 for non-stu­­dent par­tic­i­pants.
